At Fidelity we believe that equity investing should be a long term commitment. Below you can find the charts for the US, Europe, UK, Japan, South East Asia and Latin America. They show the market performance over five years (in local currency), as well as over one year to the date indicated on the graphs. (Figures are rebased to 100).

The index used is the Standard & Poor's 500 Composite Index, a broad measure of the US equity market, which reflects the performance of the 500 largest quoted companies in the US. Top

The index used is the MSCI Europe (excluding UK) Index, which reflects the performance of equity markets across continental Europe, weighted according to their relative size. Top

The index used is the FTSE-Actuaries All Share Index, which measures the performance of the largest quoted companies in the UK, a basket of approximately 800 companies. Top

The index used is the Tokyo Stock Exchange (First Section) Index, which measures the performance of Japan's largest 1,291 companies, and is widely regarded as the broad measure of the Japanese equity market. Top

The index used is the MSCI Combined Pacific (excluding Japan) Free Index, which reflects the performance of equity markets across the South East Asian region, weighted according to their relative size. Top
